Key information document (agency workers) template
A key information document tells an agency worker, before they start, who is paying them and how, what deductions will be made and what their pay will be. Employment businesses must give one to every agency worker, and the government publishes example documents for PAYE workers, umbrella company workers and personal service companies. It is given before the first assignment and updated when the terms change.

Questions people ask
What is a key information document?
A document an employment business must give an agency worker before they are engaged, setting out in a standard form who will pay them, how much, and what will be deducted.
Who has to be given a key information document?
Every agency worker, including those paid through an umbrella company or their own personal service company. The government publishes an example for each.
When must a key information document be given?
Before the worker starts their first assignment, and again when the terms change, for example if the pay rate or the way they are paid changes.
What does it say about deductions?
It lists what will be deducted from the worker's pay and why, and where an umbrella company is involved, the fees and other deductions taken.
Can I use my own template instead of this one?
Yes. Upload your own Word or PDF key information document and DocuWeave turns it into a template in your wording, filled from each worker's paperwork.
