Master services agreement template
A master services agreement is the standing contract between a supplier and a client that sets the terms for all the work between them, so each new piece of work needs only a short order or statement of work. This version is the Mid-Tier Contract Core Terms from the UK government, covering the supply of services, payment, intellectual property, data, liability, insurance and ending the contract. It is agreed once with a client, with the parties, the term, the liability cap and the insurance changing each time.

Questions people ask
What is a master services agreement?
It is an umbrella contract that sets the terms for an ongoing relationship, such as payment, confidentiality, liability and ending the contract, so individual projects can be agreed quickly under it.
What is the difference between a master services agreement and a statement of work?
The master agreement holds the general terms. A statement of work describes one piece of work, with its deliverables, timetable and price, and sits under the master agreement.
What should a master services agreement include?
The parties, how work is ordered, payment terms, intellectual property, confidentiality and data protection, liability and insurance, and how either side can end it.
Does a master services agreement guarantee any work?
Not usually. It sets the terms that apply if work is ordered, but it does not commit the client to buy anything unless it says so.
Can I use my own master services agreement?
Yes. Upload your own Word or PDF version and DocuWeave turns it into a template in your wording, with the same kind of rules and the same filling from paperwork.
